2019 Massalto Artisan

Blueberry cobbler, lemony herbs, graphite, red licorice, with hints of cinnamon, orange marmalade, and fresh plums. Swirling brings a combination of forest blue and ripe red fruits, with underlying notes of pencil shavings, citrus, and oak spice. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied, flavorful and extremely pure. The acidity and lift here are outstanding, especially for a warm vintage like the one in 2020, and the tannins are present but they are soft, and beautifully developed. The wine keeps evolving in the glass sip after sip, and finishes crazy long with the perfect amount of sweetness, lingering acidity, and notes of violets and ripe blue fruits. .
